Mark Jones

ACE: Education - Senior Lecturer

Mark's teaching experience includes 17 years in local secondary schools before joining UWE to focus on Initial Teacher Education. His research concentrates on curriculum-making and pedagogy and draws significantly on 'student-voice' which emphasises students as co-constructors. Mark's projects with schools encourage cross-subject collaboration, creative approaches to learning geography and outdoor-learning.

Mark is a Chartered Geographer (RGS-IBG) and active member of the Geographical Association. Developing strong subject communities and connecting school-university geographies are important to him.
